South Korea and Brazil agree to boost cooperation in trade and key minerals during Seoul summit

BR President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a high-level summit in Seoul on February 23, 2026, marking the first state visit by a Brazilian leader to South Korea in 21 years. During the meeting, the two heads of state signed 10 memorandums of understanding and adopted a comprehensive four-year action plan designed to elevate bilateral relations toward a strategic partnership. The agreements formalize a significant expansion of economic and security cooperation between the Presidency of South Korea (Blue House) and the Brazilian presidency, including collaboration on strategic minerals and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
