California Social Security Set for Higher 2027 COLA
Forecasts from senior groups project higher Social Security payments for California recipients in 2027. The upcoming adjustments aim to counter inflation. The official announcement is expected next month.
United States Social Security recipients in California could see a 3.5% to 3.6% increase in their monthly checks for 2027. Senior advocacy groups released the forecasts ahead of the official announcement by the Social Security Administration. The annual adjustment aims to offset inflation, which rose 3.4% over the 12-month period ending September.
Senior groups project the increase will add between $67.90 and $75 to average monthly retirement checks. This adjustment follows a 2.8% increase implemented at the beginning of 2026, which raised payments by about $56 per month.
