Senator bids 2.35 billion dollars for Russian NIS stake
KFT Senator Treasury G.T.7 Two LLC has offered 2 billion euros for the 56.1% stake in NIS held by Gazprom and Gazprom Neft. The bid challenges a competing offer from Hungary's MOL as the Russian firms face a May 22 deadline to divest their holdings under U.S. sanctions.
KFT Senator Treasury G.T.7 Two LLC offered $2.35 billion to acquire a 56.1% stake in the oil firm NIS from its Russian owners. The bid challenges a competing effort by MOL to secure the majority holding. For investors, the outcome determines control of the only oil refinery in Serbia amid tightening Western sanctions on energy assets.
### A Rival Bid for Serbian Energy Senator owner Ranko Mimovic said the $2.35 billion offer targets the combined stakes held by Russia-based Gazprom Neft and Gazprom. While Mimovic claimed the Russian owners generally accepted the bid, Gazprom Neft stated it is preparing to sell its stake to the Hungarian firm. The Russian company said it is not conducting other negotiations and is finalizing regulatory procedures for the deal with Hungary.
