Indian Stocks Climb on Hopes for US-Iran Peace Talks
Indian equity markets opened higher as oil prices fell below 100 dollars. Investors are optimistic that US-Iran peace talks will resume in Pakistan soon.
Equity markets in India opened with significant gains on Wednesday, tracking positive momentum across Asian markets as global oil prices retreated. The benchmark UTI NIFTY 50 ETF rose 1.35% to 24,163.80, while the UTI BSE SENSEX ETF advanced 1.48% to 77,981.10 during the early session. This rally was supported by a broad-based recovery, with all 16 major sectoral indices entering positive territory at the start of trade.
The primary catalyst for the market's upward movement was a notable drop in energy costs, as Brent Crude Oil fell below the $100 per barrel mark. This decline followed renewed hopes for a diplomatic resolution between the United States and Iran. Market participants reacted favorably to reports suggesting that peace negotiations could resume in Pakistan within the next few days, following a breakdown in communications over the previous weekend.
