Aramco limits April crude supply to Yanbu Arab Light
Saudi Aramco cut April crude supply to Asia due to trade issues in the Strait of Hormuz. Buyers will only receive Arab Light crude shipped from Yanbu port.
The world's leading oil exporter, Saudi Arabia, has reportedly reduced its crude oil supply to Asian buyers for the month of April. This decision follows significant trade disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz resulting from the United States-Israel war with Iran. Sources with knowledge of the matter stated on Monday that Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company - Luberef and its associated production facilities are currently supplying only Arab Light crude to term customers. These exports are being routed through the Yanbu port on the Red Sea to circumvent the volatile shipping lanes in the Gulf. The shift in logistics highlights the impact of regional conflict on global energy distribution. By utilizing the Yanbu terminal, the producer aims to maintain supply continuity for Asian markets despite the heightened risks associated with the Strait of Hormuz. Industry analysts note that the focus on Arab Light crude suggests a prioritization of specific grades to manage the current logistical constraints effectively.
