SES Reports 80 Percent Revenue Jump on Airline Demand
SES reported an 80 percent revenue jump in the first quarter. Strong aviation demand helped send shares to their highest price level since mid-2022.
SES shares jumped 7% on Tuesday after reporting an 80% surge in constant-currency sales driven by aviation connectivity. Revenue reached 847 million euros ($996 million) in the first quarter, exceeding the analyst consensus of 829 million euros. The results signal a shift for the Paris-listed satellite operator as high-margin inflight data contracts offset legacy business pressures.
### Aviation Contracts Drive Growth The Luxembourg-based company secured business for more than 40 long-haul aircraft for Japan Airlines and a new contract with Saudi Airlines. SES also progressed on a factory line-fit solution with Boeing for all aircraft models. Additional connectivity deployments were confirmed for American Airlines and Air Canada.
