Samsung Defends Foldable Lead
Samsung is launching global ad campaigns and mocking Apple on social media to protect its market dominance. Apple recently unveiled its new folding iPhone Duo priced at 1999 dollars.
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO LTD launched a global marketing campaign for its foldable devices, targeting APPLE INC as the United States giant enters the segment with a $1,999 folding phone. The move aims to defend Samsung's market share against the new iPhone Duo. Apple's entry is projected to reshape the competitive landscape in the foldable category.
Apple unveiled the Duo on Wednesday, pricing it just $100 above Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, which retails for $1,899 and runs on ALPHABET INC-CL A Gemini artificial intelligence. Counterpoint Research expects Apple to capture a 25% market share, challenging Samsung's projected 38% share this year.
