Samsung to produce Tesla chips in Texas by late 2027
Samsung Electronics expects to begin mass production of Tesla chips at its Texas facility in late 2027. The plan was shared at a shareholders meeting today.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced its plans to begin the volume production of semiconductor chips for Tesla, Inc. at its manufacturing facility in the United States starting in the second half of 2027. The project will be centered at the company’s foundry plant located in Texas.

The timeline was confirmed by Han Jin-man, President and Head of the Foundry Business at Samsung Electronics, during a shareholders meeting held in South Korea. This development marks a significant milestone in the company's efforts to expand its foundry operations and solidify its role as a primary supplier for the global automotive industry.
As the demand for high-performance semiconductors in electric vehicles continues to accelerate, Samsung's Texas facility is positioned to serve as a critical production hub for next-generation automotive technologies. The partnership highlights a broader industry shift toward localized manufacturing of essential electronic components.
