An attack by Russian forces
RU on the Ukrainian
UA section of the Druzhba oil pipeline on January 27 has led to the suspension of Russian oil transit to eastern Europe. The strike targeted the infrastructure, causing significant fires that burned pipeline infrastructure. This disruption has halted the flow of crude oil through the network, which serves as a critical link for energy supplies to the region.
The suspension of operations has interrupted a vital energy route that connects to the Brody–Odesa oil pipeline and various Black Sea oil terminals. The damage to the infrastructure near the city of Brody has severed the operational link between these transit points, complicating the logistics of oil delivery from the region. Naftogaz and the Ukrainian foreign ministry have been monitoring the situation since the incident occurred in Ukraine more than two weeks ago.
