UNITED CO RUSAL INTERNATIONA plans to establish a joint venture in Ghana to mine and process bauxite, targeting an annual production of 5 million metric tons. The agreement was signed on Thursday during an economic forum in Russia with the host nation's state agency. The expansion diversifies the producer's raw material sourcing beyond its primary African hub in Guinea. Investors are weighing the capital expenditure requirements against the company's global output of 18.453 million metric tons recorded in 2025.
