RBI extends export credit relief until June 2026 for trade
The Reserve Bank of India extended trade relief for exporters until June 2026 to ease debt stress. Firms now have longer credit and repatriation windows.
India has extended trade relief measures for its exporters to mitigate debt-servicing stress linked to the ongoing geopolitical crisis in the Middle East. The central bank announced on Tuesday that the enhanced credit period for both pre-shipment and post-shipment export credit will now be available for disbursements made until June 30, 2026.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stated that the credit period has been extended to a maximum of 450 days. This policy applies to all eligible lending institutions, including commercial banks, cooperative banks, NBFC-factors, and all-India financial institutions.
