Paris Probes Swiss Lawyer Over Hermes Share Scheme
French authorities have placed lawyer Alexandre Montavon under formal investigation for his suspected role in transferring Hermes shares to LVMH. The probe centers on the misappropriation of assets belonging to heir Nicolas Puech, who claims he lost control of a stake now valued at over 10 billion euros.
France prosecutors placed Swiss lawyer Alexandre Montavon under formal investigation for his alleged role in misappropriating millions of Hermès International shares. The probe centers on a decade-old scheme that funneled equity to LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The case revives a long-standing corporate feud over how LVMH built its position in one of the world's most valuable luxury brands.
### Allegations of Misappropriated Luxury Equity The Paris public prosecutors office said Montavon is suspected of participating in the misappropriation of Nicolas Puech's shares. Investigators believe Montavon acted through his role as an administrator for Dilico, an offshore company. The AMF market watchdog previously stated that Dilico was used to transfer Hermès shares to banks affiliated with LVMH.
