Pakistan and China sign $1.22 billion in business deals
Pakistani and Chinese firms signed $1.22 billion in deals at a Hangzhou conference. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif witnessed the signing of the new agreements.
Pakistan and China signed cooperation agreements worth $1.22 billion at the Pakistan-China Business Conference held in Hangzhou on Sunday. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif witnessed the signing alongside Zhejiang Governor Liu Jie to strengthen bilateral industrial ties. The deals signal a push for Chinese investment in Pakistani energy and pharmaceutical sectors to stabilize the local economy.
The Pakistan Prime Ministers Office confirmed the deals followed meetings between Sharif and representatives from several major Chinese industrial leaders. These firms included CONTEMPORARY AMPEREX TECHN-A, StarCharge, and Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group.
