Pakistan Sends Jets and 8,000 Troops to Saudi Arabia
Pakistan has deployed 8,000 troops and a squadron of JF-17 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia under a confidential mutual defence agreement. The combat-capable force includes air defence systems and drones to protect the kingdom during the ongoing regional conflict.
Pakistan deployed 8,000 troops, 16 fighter jets, and air defenses to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defense pact. The deployment follows a confidential agreement signed last year that potentially places the kingdom under Pakistan's nuclear umbrella. This escalation reflects a strengthened military alliance during the ongoing Iran war.
Security officials and government sources said the combat-capable force arrived in early April to support Saudi military operations. The deployment includes a full squadron of JF-17 fighters, which Pakistan developed jointly with China. Two squadrons of drones and a Chinese HQ-9 air defense system are also part of the force.
