OpenAI hired former United States army secretary Dan Driscoll for a newly created senior counselor role on national security modernization on Monday. The appointment follows Driscoll's departure from the Pentagon earlier this year after months of tension with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The strategic hire aims to deepen collaboration with defense organizations and align advanced artificial intelligence development with national security priorities.
