OpenAI and Anthropic Pursue AI Services Firm Acquisitions
OpenAI and Anthropic are in talks to buy AI services firms via new joint ventures. These deals help corporate clients fully deploy their complex models at scale.
OpenAI and Anthropic are launching multi-billion dollar joint ventures to acquire AI services firms and engineering consultancies. The move signals a shift from building large language models to providing the labor-intensive technical support required for enterprise deployment. For investors, this pivot validates the high-touch "Palantir model" as the primary path to monetizing generative AI at scale.
### The Race for Implementation Scale OpenAI is raising $4 billion from 19 investors, including TPG INC, BAIN CAPITAL SPECIALTY FINAN, and BROOKFIELD CORP, to fund a new vehicle called The Deployment Company. People familiar with the matter said the venture is already in advanced stages on three separate acquisitions. The entity is expected to be officially announced later this week.
