Oil Prices Surge Over 15 Percent Amid Iran War Escalation
Oil prices rose 15% as the Iran war intensified on Monday. Shipping delays and production cuts in Iraq and Kuwait have sparked major global supply concerns.
Global energy markets are experiencing unprecedented volatility as oil prices surged more than 15% on Monday, driven by the escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. While prices slightly pared earlier gains, Brent Crude Oil futures rose $15.51 to $108.20 per barrel, marking a historic single-day jump. Similarly, W&T Offshore, Inc. crude futures climbed to $105.13, following a session high that briefly touched $119.48. The market remains gripped by fears of prolonged shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime artery through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil supply passes. Analysts in Singapore noted that Asian buyers are particularly vulnerable to these developments as the crisis unfolds.
