Oil prices fell more than 3% during Monday morning trading as Iran and Qatar held diplomatic talks aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. The retreat follows a six-month high for crude reached at the end of October. Markets pulled back as diplomatic efforts offset earlier concerns over military escalations involving the United States and Israel following upcoming elections.
