Oil prices drop as US-Iran dialogue hopes ease supply risks
Crude futures fell on Tuesday as signs of potential dialogue between Washington and Tehran reduced supply concerns. Brent dropped to $97.50 amid the blockade.
Oil prices retreated during early Asian trading on Tuesday as market participants weighed the possibility of renewed diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran. This shift comes after a period of heightened tension following a U.S. military blockade of Iranian ports, which had previously driven prices higher.
Brent Crude Oil futures dropped by $1.86, or 1.87%, to reach $97.50 per barrel. Simultaneously, WT WTI CRUDE OIL fell by $2.25, or 2.27%, to trade at $96.83. These declines follow a significant rally in the previous session where Brent surged over 4% and WTI gained nearly 3% following the start of the naval blockade.
