OCBC to Expand Hong Kong Wealth Management Workforce
Singapore's second-largest bank plans to hire up to 50 new relationship managers in Hong Kong this year to support its wealth management expansion. The move follows a strong first quarter where regional net profit jumped 88 percent as the group targets becoming a top-ten lender in the city by 2030.
OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP will hire 30 to 50 relationship managers in Hong Kong during 2026, a headcount increase exceeding 30%. The expansion targets wealth management growth within the financial hub as part of the bank's "next frontier" strategy. Singapore's second-largest lender aims to become a top-10 bank in the territory by 2030.
### Hong Kong Revenue and Profit Surge OCBC Hong Kong revenue rose 18% to HK$2.2B ($280.9M) year-on-year during the first quarter of 2026. Net profit after tax jumped 88% in the same period. Josephine Lee, head of consumer financial services at OCBC Hong Kong, said OCBC views the city as a core market and wealth business as a primary growth driver.
