North Korea is finishing work on its section of the New Yalu River bridge with China, pointing to an opening after 12 years of delays, SI Analytics said on Wednesday morning. The push follows Beijing's efforts since late 2025 to draw Pyongyang back into its economic fold after pandemic closures. The project adds a major transport link as North Korea deepens ties across the region, including a new road connection with Russia opened earlier in the week.
