Nissan Forecasts Over 1 Billion Dollars in Profit
Nissan expects over $1 billion in profit this fiscal year as cost-cutting measures offset a modest 15 billion yen hit from the Iran war. The automaker plans to maintain Middle East shipments through alternative routes while managing risks from global economic shifts and US tariffs.
NISSAN MOTOR CO LTD expects a 200 billion yen ($1.27 billion) operating profit this fiscal year despite conflict-related logistics disruptions in Iran. The forecast includes a modest 15 billion yen hit from Middle East transport bottlenecks during the first half. Nissan's resilience contrasts with TOYOTA MOTOR CORP, which flagged a much larger $4.3 billion impact from the same conflict.
### Managing Middle East Logistics CEO Ivan Espinosa told reporters on Wednesday that the automaker secured alternative routes to maintain shipments to the Middle East. Nissan expects a sales reduction of around 19,000 vehicles in the first half of the business year. This impact is lower than competitors because Nissan identified new delivery paths around war-related bottlenecks.
