NIPPON STEEL CORP raised its fiscal 2026 net profit forecast by 52% to 440 billion yen ($2.8B) on Thursday morning, driven by stronger earnings from its United States operations. The upward revision follows an earlier August estimate of 290 billion yen and contrasts with a net profit of 17 billion yen recorded in fiscal 2025. The results underscore a sharp recovery for Japan's largest steelmaker following its major international expansion.
