Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered Israel to expand ground operations in Lebanon on May 31, pushing troops deeper into the south to combat Iran-backed Hezbollah. The escalation follows a mid-April ceasefire that has already displaced 1.2 million people since March. The incursion has killed more than 3,370 people according to Lebanese government figures.
