Matlow and Ausley advance to Tallahassee runoff
Tallahassee City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow and former state lawmaker Loranne Ausley secured the top two spots in a high-spending primary election. They will now face each other in a November mayoral runoff following a contentious race.

Tallahassee City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow secured 36.02% of the vote to finish first in the August 18 mayoral primary, advancing to a November runoff against former state lawmaker Loranne Ausley. The four-way contest saw Matlow fend off an intense barrage of attack ads financed by outside political action committees. The mayoral race became the most expensive and contentious contest on ballots across United States local elections in Leon County.
