The deal includes undisclosed milestone payments and royalties for Replay's preclinical gene therapy platform. The acquisition signals LEO Pharma's pivot toward high-value genomic treatments as it prepares for a potential IPO.
### The Gene Therapy Pivot LEO Pharma CEO Christophe Bourdon said the purchase adds an experimental gel-based gene therapy to the company's dermatology pipeline. Replay uses a modified herpes virus to deliver genetic material into skin cells, targeting conditions like dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa.
