Equity Group reported a significant surge in its full-year 2025 financial results, with pretax profits rising by 52% compared to the previous year. The Nairobi-based lender, which maintains a major presence in Kenya, attributed the performance to increased interest income and a reduction in provisions for bad debt. The group announced that its pretax profit reached 92.1 billion shillings ($711.47 million), a sharp increase from the 60.7 billion shillings reported in 2024. Net interest income for the period rose to 126.9 billion shillings, up from 108.8 billion shillings in the prior year.
