Jio BlackRock plans to launch its first exchange-traded funds in India by August after amassing $1.9B in assets. The joint venture between Jio Financial Services and BlackRock built this base through cash, debt-index, and active equity funds within one year. The move signals an aggressive push into a nascent passive investing market to mirror the global dominance of BlackRock.
### Replicating Global Passive Success Jio BlackRock currently ranks as the 29th-largest asset manager in the Indian market. BlackRock manages $5.1T in ETF assets globally, representing more than a third of its total assets under management. The venture aims to transition from its current fund base into equity-focused ETF strategies to capture rising retail interest.
