Japan trade minister urges US to maintain agreed tariff terms

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on February 24, 2026, to address the application of trade policies between the two nations. During the call, Akazawa formally requested that Japan's treatment under new U.S. tariff measures be no less favourable than the terms established under last year's agreement.
