Japan Airlines ordered up to 26 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft for regional subsidiary J-Air, featuring 16 firm orders and 10 options. The purchase follows domestic rival ANA expanding its own E2 order earlier this year to 23 aircraft. The regional fleet upgrade positions Embraer's E2 family to expand its footprint against the Airbus A220 in Japan.
