Confindustria head urges Italian energy and growth reforms

Confindustria President Emanuele Orsini urged Italy to implement energy and investment reforms to reverse a 25-year period of 0.4% average annual growth. This growth rate trails the 1.4% seen in the European_Union, 2.1% in the United_States, and 8% in China over the same period. High energy costs and regulatory bottlenecks threaten the competitiveness of Italian manufacturers in the global market.
Speaking at the group's annual assembly in Rome during the morning, Orsini described energy prices as an existential threat to domestic firms. He noted that Italian power costs remain among the highest in Europe.
