On an annual basis, retail sales jumped by 3%, marking the strongest year-on-year growth recorded in four months, according to provisional data released on Friday. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) noted that the performance was heavily influenced by the automotive sector. When excluding motor trades, sales volumes slipped 0.4% on the month and rose 2.1% year-on-year, maintaining a positive annual trend despite the monthly dip.
