Inter-American Development Bank pledges 1.3 billion dollars to El Salvador for 2026 development programs

The Inter-American Development Bank announced today, February 12, 2026, that it will provide $1.3 billion to El Salvador
SV in 2026. This sizeable, time-bound financing commitment is intended to support economic development programs specifically focused on the housing sector and the tourism sector.
The announcement was made following a high-level meeting between Inter-American Development Bank president Ilan Goldfajn and the president of the Government of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele. This national-scale commitment represents a scheduled financing arrangement for the country.
