EU Carbon Storage Project Starts
The European Union is set to launch its first full scale carbon dioxide storage project in the North Sea. The INEOS Greensand project will initially bury up to 400000 tonnes of emissions annually. This initiative aims to support industrial transitions toward a low carbon future.

INEOS will launch the European Union's first full-scale carbon dioxide storage facility on Friday, burying emissions beneath the North Sea. The British chemical company's Greensand project is designed to scale up to 8 million tonnes annually. The milestone establishes a commercial blueprint for heavy industry decarbonization across Denmark and the wider continent.
