Indian shares open higher to extend weekly recovery
Indian benchmark indexes rose on Wednesday morning as the Nifty 50 and Sensex climbed over 0.6 percent. The market continues to recover from last week's slump.
Equity markets in India opened higher on Wednesday, continuing a recovery trend after last week's downturn driven by conflict involving Iran. The positive momentum followed gains across Asian markets and a slight decrease in global oil prices.

The Nifty 50 index rose 0.66% to 23,736.9, while the BSE Sensex, operated by BSE Limited, climbed 0.63% to 76,547 as of early morning trade. Market sentiment was broadly positive, with 15 of the 16 major sectoral indices logging gains at the open.
Broader market indices also saw growth, with small-cap and mid-cap stocks each advancing by 0.5%. So far this week, both the Nifty 50 and Sensex have gained approximately 2%, clawing back some of the significant losses from their worst weekly performance in years, which had previously pushed both benchmarks into a technical correction.
