Indian shares rise on IT rebound and Tata Motors gains
Indian shares rose 0.5% as IT stocks and Tata Motors PV climbed. However, gains were limited by rising crude prices and Middle East geopolitical tensions.
India's Nifty 50 and Sensex rose 0.5% on Friday morning as IT stocks and automotive gains offset rising energy costs. The indices climbed to 23,800.35 and 75,720.46, respectively, following a period of heavy selling in the technology sector. Investors are balancing domestic corporate resilience against escalating geopolitical risks in the Middle East.
### IT Rebound and Automotive Strength Drive Gains The IT index rose 2.2% during the morning, staging a partial recovery after losing 7% over the previous four sessions. This sector-wide bounce supported 11 of the 16 major sectoral indices, which logged gains during the session. Small-cap and mid-cap stocks remained flat as capital rotated back into large-cap benchmarks.
