RBI Support Keeps Rupee Steady Ahead of Fed Policy Meeting
The rupee remains stable near 92.50 per dollar today due to central bank intervention. Investors await the Federal Reserve rate decision and monitor oil prices.
The Indian rupee is expected to trade within a narrow range on Wednesday as the market anticipates continued support from the central bank. The Reserve Bank of India is expected to intervene near the 92.50-per-dollar level, helping to stabilize the currency despite rising global oil prices. According to 1-month non-deliverable forward data, the rupee is likely to open near 92.34–92.38 per dollar, remaining largely unchanged from its previous position.
Market participants noted that the current environment is defined by an orderly but persistent upward bias for the dollar/rupee pair, especially with crude oil prices sustaining levels above $100.
