The India rupee climbed to a nearly four-week high against the United States dollar, rising 0.2% to 95.1625 by the end of August. The currency snapped a prior monthly decline of 0.8% in July to post a 0.2% gain for August. Central bank intervention and stock index rebalancing inflows drove the late-session reversal.
