India secures record 1.35 million tons of DAP fertilizer
India will import a record 1.35 million tons of DAP fertilizer to secure supply. The deal is expected to tighten global markets and support higher prices.
India will import a record 1.35 million metric tons of diammonium phosphate in a single tender to secure domestic fertilizer supplies. The volume represents approximately 25% of the nation's annual requirements for the nutrient. This purchase is expected to tighten global markets and support prices already pressured by rising energy costs.
### Securing Supply Against Geopolitical Risk Indian Potash Ltd agreed to buy 765,000 tons at $930 per ton for west coast delivery and 581,500 tons at $935 per ton for the east coast. These prices are on a cost-and-freight basis, government sources said. New Delhi is responding to supply chain disruptions linked to the Iran conflict.
