Zambia Secures IMF 1.5B Programme
Zambia has reached a staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund for a new 1.5 billion dollar credit facility. The programme aims to preserve macroeconomic stability and support growth. Executive Board approval is expected in December.

Zambia secured staff-level backing from the International Monetary Fund for a new $1.5 billion Extended Credit Facility during discussions concluding late Friday afternoon. The agreement follows the expiration of the country's previous $1.7 billion programme in January after its pandemic-era default. The three-year facility aims to anchor macroeconomic stability as the government prepares its upcoming budget.
