High US mortgage rates to keep housing market subdued
Property specialists surveyed by Reuters expect the 30-year mortgage rate to remain above 6% through 2028, significantly limiting residential turnover. Home prices are forecast to rise just 1.2% this year as high borrowing costs and limited supply continue to challenge affordability for many Americans.
