Harness Secures $5.5 Billion Valuation as Goldman Sachs Leads $200 Million AI Software Funding Round
Goldman leads $200M round valuing AI developer Harness at $5.5 billion.
Insights:
Harness, an artificial intelligence software development startup, has raised $200 million in a Goldman Sachs(SY:GS)-led financing round that values the company at $5.5 billion, marking a 49% valuation increase since its Series-D round nearly four years ago when it was valued at $3.7 billion. The fundraising underscores continued strong investor appetite for AI-driven enterprise software as boardrooms seek automation solutions for structured corporate and technical tasks.
The financing round comes amid surging demand for AI workflow tools that transform written code into practical business applications. Harness CEO and Co-founder Jyoti Bansaljyoti bansal told Reuters the company wasn't actively seeking capital but responded to overwhelming investor interest. "We had a lot of investor interest. So a lot of people were coming and reaching out to us, and that's what kind of created this financing," he explained.
