HARMONY GOLD MINING CO LTD posted an 87% surge in annual profit on Thursday, allowing South Africa's biggest miner to pay a record dividend of 7.50 rand per share. Headline earnings reached 43.63 rand ($2.73) per share in the year ended June 30, up from 23.37 rand previously. The record payout reflects strong commodity prices that offset lower operational output across core mines.
