Hapag-Lloyd ship crosses the Strait of Hormuz
The shipping group confirmed one vessel passed the strait while four others remain in the Gulf. Crew members are well-supplied as the regional blockade continues.
The German container shipping giant HAPAG-LLOYD AG confirmed on Friday that one of its vessels successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint currently at the center of global geopolitical tensions. While the company acknowledged the passage, a spokesperson stated that specific details regarding the timing and the exact circumstances of the transit were not immediately available.
Currently, four of the company's vessels remain within the Gulf region. These ships are manned by a total of 100 crew members who are reported to be in good health and well-supplied with essential provisions, including food and water. Initially, six ships were positioned in the area; however, one vessel has since left the fleet following the expiration of its charter agreement, and another has completed its exit from the strait.
