The oil sector remained the primary engine of the national economy, expanding by 21 percent in 2025. Total crude output for the year reached 261.1 million barrels as production activities continued to ramp up in the offshore blocks. This increase in volume was significantly bolstered by Exxon Mobil Corporation , which successfully commenced operations on its fourth oil project in August 2025. By the end of the year, the production capacity of Exxon Mobil Corporationincreased to over 900,000 barrels per day.
