Global Banks Raise Yuan Forecasts on Export Growth
Major investment houses including HSBC and Goldman Sachs have upgraded their yuan outlooks as the currency gains nearly 3% against the dollar this year. Global investment banks raised their yuan forecasts as China maintains export dominance and stable trade relations with the United States. The currency rose nearly 3% against the dollar this year, reaching 6.8040, and is up about 2.6% versus its major trading partners. Investors are tracking this shift as structural themes like yuan internationalization and a record external surplus drive long-term appreciation.
### Export Strength and Structural Shifts HSBC analysts raised their year-end yuan forecast to 6.65 per dollar, up from 6.75 previously. HSBC identified competitive exports and domestic rebalancing as primary drivers for the currency. Stable economic relations between Washington and Beijing since May 2025 have provided a more constructive backdrop for the yuan pair.
