German Leftist Party Set to Aid Far Right in State
Germany's BSW party could help the far-right AfD form a state government in Saxony-Anhalt. Both groups share anti-immigration views and a desire to alter foreign policy.

The far-right Alternative for Germany secured 39 of 83 seats in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt state election on Sunday evening, leaving it just short of an absolute majority. The regional result positions the far-left BSW party as potential kingmaker for the state's first far-right government. Mainstream parties maintain a strict firewall refusing coalition talks with the far-right.
