German August Inflation Rises to 2.9 Percent
German annual inflation rose to 2.9 percent in August driven by higher energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. The increase was less than expected while core inflation stabilised at 2.4 percent.

Germany's inflation rose to 2.9% year-on-year in August from 2.8% the prior month, driven by higher energy costs linked to the conflict in Iran . The increase came in below the 3.1% consensus forecast of economists polled by Reuters. The modest acceleration eases immediate concerns that wartime price pressures will spread widely across the broader economy.
