GE Aerospace tests hybrid electric flight at high altitude

GE Aerospace and NASA successfully tested a hybrid electric propulsion system on a Saab 340 aircraft at altitudes exceeding 30,000 feet. This research aims to reduce fuel consumption and emissions for the next generation of narrow body aircraft expected to enter service late next decade.
