Britains FTSE 100 index remained subdued on Monday as losses in energy and healthcare stocks countered gains in other sectors. Investors are currently awaiting the upcoming Bank of England interest rate decision.

The United Kingdom benchmark FTSE 100 hovered flat at 10,731.34 points during Monday morning trade as heavyweight energy and healthcare losses checked broader market gains. The flat session follows a monthly gain of over 3% in October, which outperformed overseas peers such as the S&P 500. Investors are now positioning portfolios ahead of a widely anticipated monetary policy shift by the Bank of England.
